How Coaching Has Helped Other Doctors

From Ideas to Action – CR, Consultant Dermatologist

When CR first came to coaching, he had several ideas he wanted to explore, from writing a book to developing skin care products. He expected our sessions to focus on productivity and execution.

But as we worked together, something unexpected happened.

Through our discussions, it became clear that his own well-being was a major factor in his ability to move forward. As he gained more clarity, the focus of our sessions shifted. He recognised areas of his health and lifestyle that needed attention—something he had not truly considered before.

By making positive changes to his own health and work-life balance, he found renewed energy and motivation. Not only did he feel better, but he also made significant progress on the projects he had initially come to discuss.

Sometimes, the path forward isn’t what we expect—but with the right space to reflect, it becomes much clearer.

Rebuilding Teamwork & Finding Alignment – FL, Consultant Neurologist

FL was feeling overwhelmed in her role. She struggled with a team that was not working well together and felt disconnected from the direction of her work. She also had aspirations for a new project but wasn’t sure when or how to start.

Through coaching, she was able to break things down into practical, manageable steps.

She introduced simple team-building exercises that became a weekly ritual—transforming the dynamic in her team and improving collaboration.

At the same time, we explored her personal values and how they were being challenged in her current role. Once she had the opportunity to identify and consider this, she started making changes to ensure her work aligned with what mattered to her.

With this renewed sense of direction, she also gained the confidence to start taking steps toward a bigger career change—one that had previously seemed out of reach.

Creating a Role That Fits – KA, Psychiatrist

KA felt unfulfilled in her role. She had invested years into her career, but something did not feel right. She didn’t feel challenged or fully engaged in her work, yet she wasn’t sure what needed to change.

Coaching gave her the space to define exactly what she wanted—what aspects of her work she enjoyed, what she found frustrating, and what kind of role would allow her to thrive.

With this clarity, she approached her supervisor with a clear proposal for adjustments to her role—one that played to her strengths while still aligning with the needs of the organisation.

To her surprise, her supervisor was open to the discussion. Together, they crafted a new role that gave her greater satisfaction, a renewed sense of purpose, and a better fit for her skills.

Sometimes, the change you need is possible—you just have to ask.
